TeePublic has recently joined forces with Redbubble and with that a new opportunity for a Finance Manager for the TeePublic business has emerged.

 

This newly created role will be responsible for supporting the operations of TeePublic by partnering with its management team and for managing the financial planning and analysis, and financial reporting aspects for both the management team and for Redbubble Group purposes.

 

The Finance Manager will be the key TeePublic liaison with the Redbubble’s Finance team based in Melbourne, Australia. Redbubble is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: RBL). Redbubble has a regular cadence of external (and internal) reporting requirements to which the TeePublic Finance Manager will be required to contribute.

  • TeePublic CEO and or COO

  • Redbubble Group GM, Finance

  • Redbubble Group Head of Tax

  • External auditors (twice per year)

 

The core elements of the role are listed below:

 

Transactional support

  • Execution of monthly revenue close, ensuring materially accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with RB requirements.

  • Review P&L activity and all account balances for completeness and accuracy

  • Manage corporate credit card programs

  • Maintain relationship with Braintree and Paypal, TeePublic’s current customer payment platforms

  • Audit and reconcile Quickbooks recorded expenditure vs managers’ EOM report.

  • Approve invoices on the invoicing@teepublic.com distribution email

  • Manage outsourced payroll and benefits (via TriNet)

External Financial Reporting

  • Ensure TeePublic’s compliance with Redbubble Group’s accounting policies

  • Contribute to and support Redbubble Group’s half year and full year external audit carried out by Ernst & Young.

  • Provide TeePublic's input into the quarterly Appendix 4C (ASX) cash flow report

Management reporting

  • Drive the preparation of TeePublic’s annual budget and ad hoc re-forecasts

  • Manage cash flow in real time by preparing weekly cash flow projections and monitoring to ensure there is no risk in cash or credit limits.

  • Evaluate P&L monthly to build operating percentages by category against expectations.

  • Build and distribute financial models that forecast and review budgets, spends and cash flow.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and C-suite to advise on financial decision making, proper budgeting and forecasting.

  • Track MOM and YOY trends on revenue, gross profit (before and after paid acquisition) and operating expenses.

Business Partnering

  • Help lead the implementation of best practices in finance team to scale our business and expansion.

  • Build and refine strong accounting process and procedures and managerial foundation for what will likely be a growing Teepublic Finance team.

  • Work cross functionally with Redbubble finance, TeePublic Operations and Marketing teams.

  • Track monthly revenue to monitor tax registration thresholds.

Taxation compliance (filing and reporting)

  • Proactively handle tax issues and correspondence with relevant jurisdictions (including overseas).

  • Maintain TeePublic’s compliance with its national and global sales tax collection and remittance obligations through assistance from and liaison with Redbubble's tax team and advisors including use of Avalara).

  • Maintain internal organizational tools to coordinate tax system.

  • Maintain back-end tax system (setting rates, updating zip code rates etc)

  • Assist Redbubble Group with filing of Group tax filings that depend upon TeePublic sourced information

 

Staff management

  • Manage one outsourced staff member who maintains TeePublic’s ledger on Quickbooks

  • (Note: this resource manages posting of accounts payable and payment batches, daily cash reconciliations, credit card postings and reconciliations, posting Trinet payroll, monthly balance sheet reconciliations)

 

 

Requirements

• Candidates must have exceptional technical skills (ERP tools, Microsoft Excel and significant experience leveraging these tools to solve business problems
• Strong knowledge of key concepts across FP&A and Investor Relations. 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail
• Ability and desire to understand the operational drivers of business performance
• Ability to communicate financial matters to non-Finance personnel
• Advanced financial modeling skills. Experience building driver based models with fully integrated P&L, Balance sheet and Cash Flow
• Enthusiastic user of technology to generate and analyze data strategically
• ERP Experience a plus
• Ability to write VBA code to automate repetitive tasks
• Prior Public Company experience with exposure to FP&A or Investor Relations a plus. 
• MBA or CFA a plus
