Job description

TeePublic is recruiting a Senior Product Manager to provide direction and delivery for TeePublic’s Search and Data teams. You will be driving TeePublic’s on-site search, already used tens of millions of times each month for over 4 billion skus, to deliver the best, most relevant content to our users while measuring the impact on company-wide goals.  You’ll also take charge in steering the technical work required to keep our data and analytics platform growing and delivering insights.


Responsibilities:

  • Understand impact and importance of search and data across key stakeholders.

  • Define Search and Date goals and create KPIs to track them, monitor KPI’s to track overall product health..

  • Create short and long term search and data roadmaps and lead iterations in pursuit of hitting company and team goals/KPI’s.

  • Analyze inputs and internal mechanics of search to drive relevancy.

  • Design and facilitate best in class operational processes to track and communicate progress across a program of work, ensure it is on track, facilitate decision-making, resolve blockers and surface challenges.

  • Understand and communicate complex engineering issues and ensure they are on a path for resolution.

  • Coordinate project/program reviews, planning sessions, and other team events needed to execute work.

  • Enable continuous improvement during the project, ensuring learnings are captured, shared, and integrated into sprints.

  • Define MVPs based on your understanding of user research and the high-reaching space.

  • Formulate hypotheses for, construct and execute AB tests.

  • Lead prioritization and effectively work with an engineering team to make the right trade-offs.

Requirements

Who you are

  • You have extensive experience working in technical project/program management roles, preferably in platform teams with complex systems

  • You have practical experience with agile and lean values, principles, and techniques

  • You have experience product managing back-end systems.

  • You have experience with at least one of the following: Elasticsearch, Solr, Neo4j, machine learning, data science.

  • You have experience cross-functional software projects and can easily communicate status at a moment’s notice

  • You are flexible, and use your judgment to apply the model and approach that best fit with the context

  • You confidently and coherently communicate across disciplines and levels within the organization, translating complex ideas for stakeholders in Design, Tech, Product, Data, Marketing, Sales, etc.

  • You’re a great communicator and bring clarity to the projects you take on: defining goals and success measures, freeing up lines of communication, identifying and removing blockers, encouraging collaboration, and, most importantly, continuously looking for ways to improve how we work.

  • You deal well with ambiguity and can distill solutions from a broad problem space.

  • You have experience in crafting product requirements based on user research and data.

  • You are experienced with working with agile development teams.

  • You care about learning and trying out new product management techniques.

  • 5 + years of product management or engineering experience.

  • CS or Math degree preferred.
